The Meridien Court Board of Directors are volunteers elected by the community. They serve a two year term and make decisions regarding the community. The following is a list of the current board members.


Lee Guio: President

Experience

· Chairperson – Union City Planning Commission – 3 years
· Vice Chairman – Wat Buudhanusorn Thai Buddhist Temple, Fremont – 10+ years
· Secretary and Board Member – NorCAl Chapter, Sister Cities International – 5 years
· Board member – Asian American Federation of California

Goals

· Work with other board members to improve internal relations among the board, resulting in a more cohesive group that can effectively and efficiently work out differences of opinion and move forward on issues before the board.
· Focus on improving the communication paths to and from the homeowners so that the board will make decisions that are in line with the desires of the majority of homeowners, and so that homeowners know the details of why any particular decision is made. 
· Always follow the concept that the board is the representative of the homeowners. That we work for the homeowners.
· Work with other board members to improve the newsletter so that it includes meaningful content about what is going on in our community, both good and bad news.
· Work with service providers (e.g. landscapers) and homeowners to continue to improve the appearance and operation of Meridien Court. 
· Improve our security, based on the desires and wishes of the majority of the homeowners.

Jose Davila: Treasurer

Experience

Undergraduate degree in Accounting. Graduate Degree in Business. Finance related Work experience over a 20-year career. International Trade experience, Purchasing and Logistics work experience. Managing a Personal business. Set-up and closure of various international and local business operations.

Accomplishments (in previous terms)

· Reviewed and aligned association’s operating budget with community needs for the periods 04-05 and 04-06.
· Reviewed and rationalized association’s reserve budget in line with current trends in replacement of associations assets.
· Continuously monitoring of association’s reserve funds at the designated investment company for purposes of reviewing investment goals and strategies and maintaining liquidity necessary to meet Associations needs.
· Monitoring and overseeing association’s operating expenditures to match approved operating budget.
· Initiated and prepared variance reporting on actual vs. budget expenditures for the year and reported this to the community membership.

Goals

· To continue to review the CC&R’s versus current trends in residential associations and implement changes that will allow our residences to increase in value.
· To continue to ascertain that the CC&R’s are uniformly implemented to all residences in the association.
· To continue to monitor expenditures of the association in relation to plans and budgets created and/or agreed to by the board and the members of the association.
· To continue to evaluate, together with board members, plans on how to improve our neighborhood and enable all members of the association to live in harmony.
· To continue to seek feedback from the community and its members in ways to improve and enhance Meridien Court for the betterment and preservation of our property values.
